I am profoundly inspired by His Holiness’s quote and by the vision of our founding father, the great luminary ‘Rastraguru’ Surendranath Banerjea. Over the countless decades of the establishment of Surendranath Law College, our institute has produced brilliant minds and radical personalities.
As the Vice Principal of such a premium institution, I honour this challenging role of protecting and nurturing the college. I consider it my utmost privilege to hold this position of responsibility and lead my team to carry forward the rich legacy of this esteemed institution of legal studies. My sole focus has been to channel all my efforts in striving to mould young minds towards a lifetime journey of zealous learning and its effective practice. My career goal is to create an enabling environment, an equal learning opportunity and to provide the best education for our students so that they can emerge as holistically developed and responsible individuals, who are ready to lead the nation as the torch-bearers of legal studies.
We are fortunate to have a talented and a highly committed faculty and support staff in the college. Together as a team, we consider it our duty to discover, develop and encourage hidden talents lying dormant inside all students. As we collectively believe in the larger goal of serving humanity, our primary emphasis is to develop the students moral and ethical values and sensitize them to evolve as true professionals committed to delivering legal justice.
As an educator, I encourage our law graduates to explore newer areas outside the traditional legal practitioner roles such as in sectors like higher education, business partnerships, management, politics, civil service, diplomacy and social work. To realize this, I guide my team to impart experiential learning and practical wisdom that expands intellectual breadth, enhances analytical skills and inculcates ethical sense to fulfil the noble duties of legal practice in society. We spare no efforts to make the educational experience of our students meaningful and relevant to the socio-economic needs of the contemporary times.
