COMMITTEE FOR THE DIFFERENTLY-ABLED

Surendranath Law College strictly abides by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 that prohibits discrimination against individuals with physical and mental disabilities. The College intends to advance a comprehensive and inclusive teaching and learning environment in which differently-abled students, or employees are not distraught or treated unfavourably. The College authority is striving to extend a helping hand towards the differently-abled through various policies, programs, and activities.

Role and Duties of the Committee for the Differently-abled

To provide accessible and inclusive education in the college by creating a progressive culture that is inclusive, non-discriminatory, non-exploitative.
To ensure implementation of all legislations and provide all entitlements and facilities as per government rules.
To facilitate admission of persons with disability by following Rules & Regulations and Policies of the States and Central Governments.
To provide counselling to differently-abled individuals in the college for better learning support.
To provide guidance to eligible students and help them avail financial assistance/ fellowships/scholarships from different funding agencies to increase their sustainability in higher education.

To ensure full participation of persons with disabilities in all activities of the college and to provide them equal opportunities for development.
To create awareness among students, faculty and staff about the needs of persons with disabilities and other general issues concerning disabilities.
To provide scribe for needy students during University Examinations.
