COMMITTEE FOR THE DIFFERENTLY-ABLED

Surendranath Law College strictly abides by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 that prohibits discrimination against individuals with physical and mental disabilities. The College intends to advance a comprehensive and inclusive teaching and learning environment in which differently-abled students, or employees are not distraught or treated unfavourably. The College authority is striving to extend a helping hand towards the differently-abled through various policies, programs, and activities.


Role and Duties of the Committee for the Differently-abled

  • To provide accessible and inclusive education in the college by creating a progressive culture that is inclusive, non-discriminatory, non-exploitative.
  • To ensure implementation of all legislations and provide all entitlements and facilities as per government rules.
  • To facilitate admission of persons with disability by following Rules & Regulations and Policies of the States and Central Governments.
  • To provide counselling to differently-abled individuals in the college for better learning support.
  • To provide guidance to eligible students and help them avail financial assistance/ fellowships/scholarships from different funding agencies to increase their sustainability in higher education.
  • To ensure full participation of persons with disabilities in all activities of the college and to provide them equal opportunities for development.
  • To create awareness among students, faculty and staff about the needs of persons with disabilities and other general issues concerning disabilities.
  • To provide scribe for needy students during University Examinations.
