Admission Procedure

B.A. LL.B

The admission procedure of Surendranath Law College is centrally facilitated by the University of Calcutta. As one of the 14 law colleges functioning under the Faculty of Law, University of Calcutta, Surendranath Law College offers a total of 198 seats (10% reservation for EWS candidates) for admission to the 1st Semester of the 5-year B.A LL.B. course. It is a completely online admission process. Candidates are selected through CULET-UG (Calcutta University Law Entrance Test) following an e-counselling process. Candidates successful in the qualifying examination are recommended to colleges according to their preferences and position in the merit list. Admission notification is generally published by the Department of Law, University of Calcutta in the Month of June-July every year.

How to Apply

• On the Dashboard of B.A.LL.B. Admission click to Register for New User,

• Registration Form for B.A.LL.B. (Fields have to fill: Name, Date of Birth, Email, Category, Whether Wards of Police, Details of the Police personnel/Ex-Police Personnel, 8 to 15 characters pass word, confirm password and enter verification code, continue.)

• Personal Information: (Field have to fill: Mother’s name/ Father’s Name/Guardian’s name, Gender, Marital status, Religion, Blood Group, Nationality, Whether Physically Disabled, Family income, Present Address, Permanent Address, Mobile No, Save and Continue.)

• Academic Information: (Field has to fill: 10th & 10+2 Level: School name, subject taken, year of passing, division, Name of the Board. Statement of Marks obtained at the 10+2 Level (Field has to fill: Year of passing, Roll No, 5 subject with corresponding full marks and marks obtained and Grade/Division, Save & Continue.)

• Select College: Preference of College, Save and Continue.

• Upload Photo and Signature: Photo (jpg/jpeg 50 kb) & Signature ((jpg/jpeg 20 kb), Continue. Any False information in the application form may cause for the cancellation of candidature.

• Download Application Form. (Not required to submit hard copy of the Application Form).

• Fees Payment: Through Bill Desk (by clicking on Payment Link)

B.A. LL.B.(Hons)

Admission to B.A. LL.B. Honours course Students need to apply for the honours course in the 6th semesters. Selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 exam and also marks obtained from 1st semester – 4th semesters by the Department of Law, University of Calcutta and recommended to college.

LL.M.

Admission to LL.M. course is also centrally facilitated by the University of Calcutta. 50% of the total number of the seat is reserved for Calcutta University B.A. LL.B. Honours candidates and for the rest 50% seats CULET-PG (Calcutta University Law Entrance Test). Surendranath Law College offers a total of 22 seats for admission to 1st year of 2-year LL.M. course. Admission notification is generally published by the Department of Law, University of Calcutta in the Month of October-November every year.
