Surendranath Law College, provides both indoor and outdoor games and sports facilities for students. The sports committee organises football, cricket, volleyball and badminton tournaments for students, faculty and the non-teaching staff groups. The Sports Committee has been a key body in discovering talented players in the college. Over the years, our students have been champions in multiple sports events and their award trophies have been displayed as a matter of pride and achievement in the student’s common room.

ROLE AND DUTIES OF THE GAMES & SPORTS COMMITTEE

To establish a good interpersonal network within the committee and among players to foster collective-team spirit and discipline.
To prepare the annual schedule of all events and tournaments at the beginning of each academic session submit the same to the Principal/Vice Principal/Teacher-in-Charge.
To organize regular inter- and intra-college sports competition at both the state and national level.
To organise training sessions for new and existing members to prepare them with the skills and strategies needed to participate in sports events.
To prepare the budget, raise funds and secure sponsorships for purchase of sports equipment, uniforms, organization of sports events/tournaments.

To encourage participation of students who are economically backward with exceptional talent in sports.
To make necessary arrangements and ensure the timely and proper distribution of certificates, trophies and medals, when the college acts as the host institute.
To ensure that all equipment required training sessions are available and to supervise players to ensure good maintenance of training and sports kits and equipment before and after tournaments.
To maintain liaison with the Sports Department of the Government to remain updated about matches, events, funds, equipment, team travel, team accommodation, etc.
