The Surendranath Law College Extempore Club has been established as a key platform to train students to become effective public speakers in their respective professions that they may take up in the future. Impromptu speaking is a Life Skill that is essential for success and to stand out as an achiever in any field.
In this backdrop, the Extempore Club aims to achieve the following objectives -
- To improve communication skills by enabling students to think on their feet, organize their thoughts quickly, and articulate their ideas effectively.
- To enhance critical thinking by preparing and delivering speeches on various topics without prior notice. Extemporaneous speaking fosters quick thinking and the ability to analyze information rapidly.
- Improve adaptability by connecting to different audiences and situations, which is a valuable skill vitally useful in many aspects of life.
- To improve confidence building so that students can practice to speak confidently and present their ideas assertively in front of others.
- To practice Time Management so that speakers learn to prepare and convey their key ideas effectively within a limited amount of time.
- To increasing and expanding students’ knowledge base by constantly engaging in researching and preparing for impromptu speeches.
- To promote professional development by applying public speaking skills in many professions, such as business, politics, and education and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and promptly under pressure.
