B.A. LL.B

Particulars in respect of Admission / Entrance Test and other information for B.A. LL.B. course are given below:

  • Passed 10+2 or its equivalent from the Board recognized by the University of Calcutta. Presently there is no age bar for admission.

  • 10+2 Level Marks obtained from the Board recognized by the University of Calcutta:

  • GENERAL: At least 45% marks in best four subjects. (Excluding Environmental Studies of WBCHSE).

  • SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PERSON WITH DISABILITY (Disability 40% or more): At least 40% marks in best four subjects.(Excluding Environmental Studies of WBCHSE).

  • Candidate passed 10+2 from the Board other than WBCHSE, ISC, CBSE, Rabindra Mukto Vidyalay and NIOS must obtain “EQUIVALANCE CERTIFICATE” from the office of the Registrar, (Equivalence Section) University of Calcutta, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata-700073 by a written application in plain paper with relevant photo copy of 10+2 Mark Sheet. Certificate will be required at the time of Admission. It will be safe to obtain the certificate before online application submission.

  • Foreign Student: Foreign National with last qualification eligibility degree from Foreign Board have to apply in writing to the undersigned mentioning all previous degrees, mark sheets, certificates and syllabus of the last qualifying examination eligibility degree, High Commission forwarding and AIU equivalence Certificate. After preliminary verification they may be called for interview. If qualified in interview the C.U. equivalence certificate has to be collected. After getting equivalency clearance a provisional list will be prepared for approval of Vice-Chancellor, C.U. Lastly selected candidates will get admission with all required documents. Foreign National with last qualifying eligibility degree from Indian universities/boards candidates may also apply as like other Indian national candidates.

Application Fees:

  • GENERAL: Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only)

  • SC/ST/PWD/OBC-A/OBC-B PERSON WITH DISABILITY: Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two hundred fifty only) (subject to change by the University).

Marks & Application Fees relaxations as well as seat reservation are applicable for those SC/ST/OBC/PERSON WITH DISABILITY applicants who have valid certificate from the competent authority of the Government of West Bengal only. Marks and Fees relaxations as well as seat reservation are applicable for those PWD applicants who have valid certificate with disability 40% or more from the competent authority.

  • Online Admission Slip Download: After each Phase of E-Counselling. Admission at College: after completion of each phase dates are given in the college website.

Admission Procedure at the end of college:

After securing rank in merit list and recommendation by the University through e-counselling process candidates have to apply through the online admission portal of the college and submit the requisite admission fees along with all the relevant document.

Candidates will then have to collect print out of the application form, payment receipt and all other relevant documents (as mentioned in the college notification) and appear for physical verification and approval of the admission on the date and time mentioned in notification.

B.A.LL.B.(Hons):

Students need to apply for the honours course in the 6th semesters. Selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 exam and also marks obtained from 1st semester – 4th semesters by the Department of Law, University of Calcutta and recommended to college.

LL.M

Minimum marks for LLM admission is 50% in LLB. Common Admission Test is conducted University of Calcutta. After qualifying the test, counselling process takes place and students get admission based on seat allotment. Eligibility criteria have to be passed by all students before opting for the course according to the university guidelines which is followed by the institution. Committee for admission probe the applications received and examines the supporting documents, eligibility, reviews merit list and shortlist the applicants and then the students are provided with admission.

  • Rs. 200/- for EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PWD (or as notified by the University from time to time)

Admission Process: Admission will be done through Physical Counseling.

Question Type: MCQ 60 Marks (2marks x 30), Subjective 40 Marks (10 marks x 2, 5 marks x 4)
